The HealthifyMe Care is a specialized in-hospital lifestyle management programme where experts offer nutrition counsel and support three groups of patients. One is those visiting the hospital for a preventive health check. Second is those consulting a specialist at the outpatient department. The third is those undergoing a surgical procedure. So far, over 20,000 patients in Manipal Healthcare Group have benefitted from HealthifyMe Care.
According to Tushar Vashisht, Co-founder & CEO, HealthifyMe said that the nutrition management is a vital part of a patient’s holistic care. The programme empowers doctors to leverage digital data to track their patient’s progress on a continuous basis. We hope to extend this partnership to many more hospitals across the country.
Under the HealthifyMe Care programme, doctors can now recommend Nutrition Counseling to patients who come in for a preventive check-up. For instance at Manipal Whitefield Hospital, doctors can also refer their OPD patients with a pre-existing condition like diabetes, hypertension, renal disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome and thyroid disorder to use HealthifyMe Care. The programme is also available to in-patients who require post-operative nutrition management after having undergone a surgical procedure.
HealthifyMe Care programme ensures that nutritionists follow-up with the patients regularly to encourage them to eat right and lose weight. This has led to some amazing success stories from our flagship hospitals in the last three years, said Dr. H. Sudarshan Ballal, Chairman of Manipal Hospital.
Patients who actively engaged with HealthifyMe Care and used the HealthifyMe app reported that they lost an average of 4.4 kgs in 3 months and that they ate less fat, less sugar, more protein and included more fruit and vegetable in their daily diet.
HealthifyMe has also partnered with Medanta - The Medicity and the Apollo Centre for Obesity, Diabetes and Endocrinology (ACODE) for in-hospital services.
