operate and maintain the Shimadzu GC 2010 series Head space GC system

I.    PURPOSE :
      To provide a procedure to operate and maintain the Mitutoyo make CD-6”CS   Vernier calipers 
II.   SCOPE :
      This procedure is applicable for the Mitutoyo make CD-6”CS   Vernier calipersused in the Quality Control department. 

III.   RESPONSIBILITY :
       It is the responsibility of all the personnel using the Vernier calipers.

V.     OPERATION :

1.0    PRELIMINARY CHECK :

1.1     Check that the instrument  if not, clean with a soft cloth duster.
2.0     BASIC OPERATION : 
2.1     The vernier calipers consists of display and switches.
2.2    Switch on the vernier calipers with on/off switch.
2.3    We can correct the initial reding to ‘Zero’ with Zero switch.
2.4    The display showed in inches or millimeters.
2.5    The disply can be toggled between these two ‘in/mm’ switch.
3.1    Measurement:
3.1    Place the vernier calipers on the objective image measured.
3.2    Adjust the pointers of the vernier calipers on the object exactly so that the place to be measured in between the pointers.
3.3    Adjustment can be done with the help of the roller the movement can be adjusted by rotating switch on the top.
VI.     CALIBRATION  : Once in a Year by external agency.If the instrument fails in calibration, proceed as per the Core Procedure, “Calibration of Equipment”.

Vernier calipers, adjustment, external agency
