1.0    PURPOSE:

1.1    To lay down the procedure for operation of balance.

2.0    SCOPE:

2.1    This procedure is applicable for rough weighing of sample during sampling.

3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:

3.1    Asst. Quality Control.

4.0    ACCOUNTABILITY:

4.1    Head Quality Control

5.0    PROCEDURE:

5.1    Carry the balance carefully to sampling area.
5.2    Keep the balance on a plain surface.
5.3    Clean the pan with a cloth.
5.4    Fix the pan on the stud.
5.5    Adjust zero adjustment knob so that the pointer reads zero.
5.6    Place the sampling bag on the pan.
5.7    Weigh the sample required and read its weight.
5.8    After completion of weighing clean the pan with a cloth.
