1. APPARATUS
1.1 Volumetric flask (500 ml capacity). : 1 No.
1.2 Measuring cylinders (100 ml capacity). : 1 No.
1.3 Beaker (500 &100 ml capacity) : One each.
1.4 Glass funnel. : 1 No.
1.5 Glass rod. : 1 No.
2. REAGENTS
2.1 Nitric Acid. : LR grade
2.2 Distilled water.
3. PREPARATION
3.1 Measure 53.0 ml of Nitric Acid LR and transfer into a 100 ml capacity beaker.
3.2 Pour about 200 ml of distilled water into a 500 ml capacity beaker.
3.3 Transfer slowly, through sidewalls of the beaker, 53.0 ml of Nitric Acid LR (about 10ml on each attempt) into above said beaker, while gentle mixing, by using a glass rod.
3.4 Transfer prepared solution into a 500ml volumetric flask by using a glass funnel.
3.5 Rinse the beakers and funnel with few ml of distilled water, and allow to add into the contents of volumetric flask.
3.6 Make up the volumetric flask to mark with distilled water, remove the funnel, keep the lid to close the volumetric flask and shake gently to mix the solution.
3.7 Transfer the prepared solution into a suitable container and label with all necessary details.
3.8 The resultant solution is having the concentration of about 10% w/w.
