4.0 PROCEDURE
4.1 Ensure that the working area and balance is clean.
4.2 Clean the weighing pan with a small brush.
4.3 Check all the doors of the balance are closed.
4.4 Adjust the spirit level of the balance to center by rotating the leveling knobs provided at the bottom.
4.5 Connect the instrument to 230 volts A/C power supply.
4.6 Switch on the balance, press ON/OFF button.
4.7 Press the ‘TARE’ button before weighing; ensure that 0.0000 gm is displayed on the digital display board.
4.8 Open the side door of the balance and place the object to be weighed on the weighing pan, in case of liquids open the top door of the balance.
4.9 If required, tare the weight of the object by pressing ‘TARE’ button.
4.10 Weigh the sample to the required quantity.
4.11 Close the door, wait till the weight stabilizes and record in to a analytical balance logbook.
4.12 Switch off the instrument, press and ON/OFF button at the end of day whenever
required.
