Caffeine-Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant of the methylxanthine class. It is the world's most widely consumed psychoactive drug.

Caffeine is a stimulant to the central nervous system, and regular use of caffeine does cause mild physical dependence.  However, caffeine does not cause the severity of withdrawal or harmful drug-seeking behaviors as street drugs or alcohol.
