Description

1.0    PURPOSE:

1.1    To lay down the procedure for Analytical Reference Numbering System.

2.0    SCOPE:

2.1    This procedure is applicable for Quality control department.

3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:

3.1    Assistant – Quality Control.
3.2    Executive - Quality Control.

4.0    ACCOUNTABILITY:

4.1    Manager - Quality Control.

5.0    PROCEDURE:

5.1    Analytical Reference Number (AR Number) shall be allotted for all samples entered in quality control Laboratory for analysis.
5.2    AR Number for Raw materials, Packing materials, in-process samples, intermediates, finished products and other categories shall be of Nine Digit as follows.

5.3    First 2 digits indicate the current calendar year. Like 05 for 2005,06 for 2006,………………...
5.4    Next 2 digits indicate identity code for types of sample shall be mentioned in the following table.

S.No.

Examples are as follows

A Block

B Block

C Block

And so on

First character is Block and the next character is I.

5.5    Next single digit is lab identification as mentioned below.
Lab I (main lab) – 0
Lab II (D&E lab) – 1
Lab III (F&G lab) – 2

5.6    Last four digits are the continuous sequence number, starting with 0001.
    Typical Examples are as follows
Lab I: Raw materials 05RM00001
    Intermediates 05IN00001
    Finished products 05FP00001
    In-process sample from A block 05AI00001
5.6    If the number exceeds 5 digits i.e., 9999 then the next number shall be 10000.
5.7    Further exceeds 6 digits i. e 99999 then the next number  shall be 100000
Typical Examples are as follows (5-digits)
Lab I: Raw materials 05RM010000
    Intermediates 05IN010000
    Finished products 05FP010000
    In-process sample from A block 05AI10000
Typical Examples are as follows (6-digits)
Lab I: Raw materials 05RM0100000
    Intermediates 05IN0100000
    Finished products 05FP0100000
    In-process sample from A block 05AI100000
