1.0 PURPOSE:
To describe a standard operating procedure for breakdown rectification of blender.
2.0 SCOPE:
The standard operating procedure describes in detail the method of breakdown rectification of blender, which includes gear box oilseals leakage, damage of couplings of motor and blender, motor bearings damage and blender bearings damage.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of carrying out breakdown rectification of blender lies with staff of rank not lower than the junior utility operator of maintenance department.
The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the standard operating procedure lies with the Manager - Maintenance, Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.
4.0 METHOD:
4.1 Damage of gear box oilseals/bearings:
4.1.1 Carryout replacement of oil seals and bearings as per SOP REPLACEMENT OF OIL SEALS OF GEAR BOXES and SOP/ REPLACEMENT OF BEARINGS OF PROCESS / UTILITIES / LABORATORY EQUIPMENT.respectively.
4.2 Damage of couplings of motor and blender:
4.2.1 Carry out replacement of couplings as per SOP REPLACEMENT OF DAMAGED COUPLINGS/PULLEYS OF REACTORS, PUMPS, MOTORS AND GEAR BOXES..
4.3 Damage of motor bearings:
4.3.1 Carry out replacement of bearings of motor as per SOP REPLACEMENT OF BEARINGS OF PROCESS / UTILITIES / LABORATORY EQUIPMENT.
4.4 Damage of Blender bearings:
4.4.1 Isolate the equipment electrically.
4.4.2 Remove gear box from the equipment.
4.4.3 Remove Blender shell couplings using puller.
4.4.4 Give a support to the Blender shell.
4.4.5 Remove the plumber blocks and replace both the bearings.
4.4.6 Fix the plumber blocks.
4.4.7 Fix the coupling to the Blender shell.
4.4.8 Fix the gear box.
4.4.9 Restore the power supply to the equipment.
4.5 Record the details in the history card.
5.0 RECORDING:
The responsibility of recording the breakdown rectification in the history card lies with the staff a rank not lower than the maintenance supervisor.
