1.0 PURPOSE:
To describe a standard operating procedure for Cleaning the line filters.
2.0 SCOPE:
The Standard opering procedure describes in detail the method of cleaning the line filters.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of cleaning the line filters as per the standard operating procedure lies with the staff of rank not lower than junior utility operator under the supervision of supervisor.
The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the standard operating procedure lies with the Manager - Maintenance, Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.
4.0 METHOD:
4.1 Disconnect the line filter from the line.
4.2 Open the filter top cover by unscrewing the bolt and nuts.
4.3 Check the intactness of the filter bag and for any damage of the cloth.Replace filter if any holes are found on the cloth.
4.4 Apply 1 to 2 kg/cm2 pressurised water from the outlet of the filter for the reverse flushing/cleaning of the filter bag.
4.5 Apply bleed of steam from the outlet of the line filter for sanitization of the filter bag.
4.6 If the bag is clogged and reverse flushing is not possible replace the filter bag.
4.7 Frequency: One in 15 days±2days
4.8 Tie a tag with the following details to the filter.

5.0 RECORDING:
The responsibility of recording the details of filter cleaning in the annexure-I lies with the staff of rank not lower than the supervisor.
