1.0 PURPOSE:
To describe standard operating procedure for installing the centrifuge.
2.0 SCOPE:
The standard operating procedure describes in detail the method of installing the centrifuge.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of installing the centrifuge lies with the staff of rank not lower than the maintenance engineer of maintenance department.
The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the standard operating procedure lies with the Manager - Maintenance, Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.
4.0 METHOD:
4.1 Bring the centrifuge from stores to the place of installation.
4.2 Place the centrifuge on the foundation.
4.3 Fix all the three nuts and tighten them.
4.4 Adjust the base frame of centrifuge in the horizontal plane using a spirit level.
4.5 Give the electrical connection to the centrifuge motor.
4.6 Give earth connection to the centrifuge.
4.7 Ensure that the diameter of the pipe used to connect the outlet of the centrifuge to the drain is not less than that the outlet of centrifuge.
5.0 RECORDING:
The responsibility of recording the installation details in the history card lies with staff of rank not lower than the maintenance engineer.
