Description


1.0    PURPOSE

1.1    To lay down the procedure for Investigation in the Event of water sample failing daily analysis.

2.0    SCOPE:

2.1    This SOP covers the Procedure for of Investigation in the Event water sample failing daily analysis.

3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:    

3.1    Microbiologist

4.0    ACCOUNTABILITY:        

4.1    Department Head - Quality Control

5.0    PROCEDURE:        

5.1    Failure of water should be investigated as per checklist for Investigation of Water Failure QCXXXXX
5.2    Resample the water from the source and reanalyze.
5.3    Release; if passes
5.4    If the sample passes as per specification then release the sample.
5.5    If water fails to confirm, immediately inform Engineering Head through Quality Assurance to stop the usage of purified water.
5.6     Drain the water completely and generate fresh purified water and analyze it and upon release distribute in production.

5.7    A thorough investigation involving, Quality Assurance, and Engineering Head shall be done and based on the investigation report corrective action shall be taken before consumption of water supply.
5.8    If the sample fail in microbiology carry out investigation as per QCXXXXX.
5.9    If the sample crosses alert level inform to utility through Inter office Communication to take appropriate preventive maintenance of the system.
5.10    If the sample crosses action limit inform to Engineering Head to stop distribution and carryout investigation involving Quality Assurance, Engineering Head.
5.11    Sanitize completely loop system and after sanitization collect the sample of water.
5.12    Analyse the sample and release the water for distribution after it confirms to specification.
5.13    Analyze the finished product, which is manufactured in previous three days for additional contamination checks. 
5.14    The Action and Alert Limits as per appendix – I.
