1.0 PURPOSE:
To describe a standard operating procedure (SOP) for tray drying.
2.0 SCOPE:
The SOP describes in detail the method of tray drying.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of tray as per the SOP lies with the staff of the rank not lower than operator of the production department.
The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the SOP lies with the Executive (Production), Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.
4.0 METHOD:
4.1 Charge measured quantity of material into each tray and distribute evenly.
4. 2 Keep the trays in the drier and close the door.
4. 3 Switch on the fan and continue as per the batch manufacturing sheet.
4. 4 Open steam valve and heat to desired temperature.
4.5 Maintain at desired temperature for the required time.
4.6 Close steam valve. Switch "OFF" the fan, unload the material into double polythene bags and weigh, after attaining the room temperature.
5.0 RECORDING:
The responsibility of recording the drying operation in the temperature record attached to the batch manufacturing sheet lies with the operator.
