Operation and calibration of WATER BATH CINTEX CIC 2

Description

1.  PURPOSE :
    To provide a procedure to operate and maintain the Cintex make CIC-2 Water Bath.

 II.  SCOPE :

      This procedure is applicable for the Cintex make CIC-2 Water bath being used for the analytical purposes in the Quality Control epartment. 

III.   RESPONSIBILITY :
        It is the responsibility of all the personnel involved in the analysis using of the equipment.

V.    OPERATION :       

1.0   PRELIMINARY CHECK :

1.1   Check that the instrument and surroundings are clean, if not, clean with a soft cloth  duster.
1.2   Use always DM water only to prevent  the scaling .
1.3    Change the water in the water bath daily or when ever any material is spilled or when  ever the colour of water changes.

2.0    BASIC OPERATION : 

2.1  Before using the Water Bath apparatus, check whether it is calibrated or not.  If not, calibrate it..

2.2   Switch on the instrument by the “MAINS” switch on the control panel of the instrument.
2.3  The control panel consists of
2.4   Electronic Temperature controller.
2.5  Three heat control switch (Rotatory switch) to control heating rate control.
2.6   Booster switch.
2.7    To set the desired temperature push the Electronic Temperature controller “PRESS” switch and set the desired temperature with the “SET” switch, fine tune the desired temperature with the “FINE” switch after setting the desired temperature release the electronic  temperature  control switch. 
2.8  Drain the water in the water bath daily or when ever any material is spilled or when ever the colour of water changes.

VI. CALIBRATION      

Calibration Frequency: Once in six months by external agency.

1.    The calibration should be carried out by external across the full range of temperature i.e from 250C to 900C by using methods and standards traceable to national standards.
2.    If the instrument fails in calibration, proceed as per the Core Procedure, “Calibration of Equipment”.
