1.0 URPOSE
1.1 To lay down the procedure for operation of Heidolph HG3001 hot plate.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 This procedure is applicable for the operation of hot plate identification nos. XXXXX & XXXXX in in-process quality control laboratories in Module-I & Module-II.

5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Connect the instrument power cord to 230 volts electrical supply.
5.2 Switch on the heater by pressing GREEN toggle switch to right side, green light glows, control knob should be in extreme left position.
5.3 Turn the control knob in clockwise direction to set the desired heating temperature, then YELLOW LED glows.
5.4 When the hotplate attains the set temperature, then red light turns off.
5.5 Then put the sample on hot plate and maintain the desired temperature / required time period.
5.6 The minimum and the maximum temperatures of the instrument are ambient and up to 300°C
5.7 Turn the knob in anticlock wise direction to decrease the temperature or to turn OFF. The YELLOW LED turns OFF.
5.8 After completion of experiment/usage, switch off the green switch to leftside and then GREEN LED turns OFF.
5.9 Note down the instrument usage details in the logbook as per Annexure-I (as per QA SOP format no. XXXXX-current version).
5.10 Disconnect the power supply to the instrument.
5.11 After usage, wipe housing surfaces clean with a damp cloth by adding mild liquid soap solution.
Note: Use cotton gloves to remove the materials from the hot plate.
