Description

1.0    PURPOSE:
    
    To describe a  standard operating procedure (SOP) for area cleaning.
        
2.0    SCOPE:
    
    The SOP describes in detail the method  of area cleaning.
    
3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:
    
    The  responsibility  of  getting the area cleaned as per the SOP lies with the staff of the rank not lower than operator of the production department.
    
    The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the SOP lies with the Officer (Production), Head of Production and Head of QAD  respectively.
    
4.0    METHOD:
    
4.1    DAILY CLEANING PROGRAMME:
    
4.1.1    Remove   cobwebs  if any with 10 feet broom stick  (use  ladderwhenever required).
    
4.1.2    Sweep the floor with 3 feet broom.
    
4.1.3    Clean Glasses and window panes free from dust.
    
4.1.4    Wet mop the floor with 0.5 to 1.0% Nirma soap solution.
    
4.1.5    Frequency:   Twice in a day.
    
4.2    QUARTERLY CLEANING PROGRAMME:
    
4.2.1    Clean  motors, compressors, switchboards and  other  electrical points with compressed air after putting off the power supply.
    
4.2.2    Clean  ceiling, walls and floor with 3 feet broom (use 10  feet  broom stick and ladder whenever required).
    
4.2.3    Clean floor with wet mopper.
    
4.2.4    Mop floor with dry cloth
    
5.0    RECORDING:    

    The area cleaning operation  will be recorded by the supervisor  in the area cleaning record as shown in annexure-I.
