SHIFTING THE EQUIPMENT FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER PLACE IN THE PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT

1.0    PURPOSE:
    
        To  describe a  standard operating procedure (SOP) for shifting the equipment from one place to another place in  the  production department.
    
2.0    SCOPE:
    
         The  SOP describes in detail  the method for shifting the equipment from one place  to  another place in the production department.
    
3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:
    
        The  responsibility  of requesting  maintenance  department  to shift the equipment as per the SOP lies with the staff of the rank not lower than operator of the production department.
    
       The responsibility  of shifting the equipment as per production  requirement  lies  with the staff of rank not  lower  than  the  maintenance engineer.
    
       The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the SOP lies with the Officer (Production), Head of Production and Head of QAD  respectively.
    
4.0    METHOD:
    
4.1    The  plant manager  after discussing with vice president  (production)  sends the engineering requisition to the  maintenance department.
    
4.2    The  maintenance  engineer after taking  clearance  from  plant  manager will shift the equipment.
    
4.3    The maintenance engineer installs the equipment at the required place. 

    
4.4    After installing the equipment at the required place the  main tenance  engineer carries out operational qualification of  the equipment and handover the equipment to  the  production department.
    
5.0    RECORDING:
    
    The responsibility of keeping the records of shifting equipment lies with plant manager and maintenance manager.
