1.0 PURPOSE:
To describe a standard operating procedure (SOP) for blending of two or three commercial batches.
2.0 SCOPE:
The SOP describes in detail the method for blending of two or three commercial batches.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of blending of two or three commercial batches as per the SOP lies with the staff of rank not lower than operator of production department.
The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the SOP lies with the Officer (Production), Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.
4.0 METHOD:
4.1 BLENDING OF TWO COMMERCIAL BATCHES:
4.1.1 Take two commercial batches and divide each batch into two equal lots.
4.1.2 Take one lot from each commercial batch and blend as per SOPxxxxx
4.1.3 Take the remaining two lots of different commercial batches and blend as per SOPxxxxx
4.1.4 Assign the next commercial batch No. to blended material.
4.2 BLENDING OF THREE COMMERCIAL BATCHES:
4.2.1 Take three commercial batches and divide each batch into three equal lots.
4.2.2 Take one lot from each commercial batch and blend as per SOPxxxxx.
4.2.3 Take second lot from each commercial batch and blend as per SOPxxxxx
4.2.4 Take third lot from each commercial batch and blend as per SOPxxxxx.
4.2.5 Assign the next commercial batch No. to blended material.
4.3 Frequency: Whenever the customer requirement is more than the commercial batch size.
5.0 RECORDING:
The blending operation shalll be recorded by the operator in blending record.
