2.1 This procedure is applicable for Calibration of all polarimeter located in quality control lab.

5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Operate the instrument as per the respective instrument SOP and calibrate the Polarimeter for LINEARITY and ACCURACY from Sucrose solutions of following concentration;
5.1.1 Accurately weigh and transfer about 8.0,9.0,10.0,11.0 and 12.0g of sucrose into 100 mL volumetric flasks separately, Dissolve and make up each to 100mL with water.
5.1.2 Measure the optical rotation of the above-prepared Solutions at 200C, in a 1dm tube at 589 nm and calculate the Specific-optical rotation.
5.1.3 Record the calibration details in Format No. xxxxx
5.1.4 Acceptance criteria; ACCURACY: SOR of 10 % sucrose solution is + 66.5° (± 0.10).
5.1.5 Linearity : Correlation coefficient should be NLT xxxx
5.2 Frequency: Once in three months.
