1.0 PURPOSE:
To describe a standard operating procedure for maintaining the equipment cleaning and use log.
2.0 SCOPE:
The SOP describes in detail the method of maintaining the equipment cleaning and use log.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of cleaning equipment after completion of the batch, checking the details of cleaning before starting the new batch and maintaining the equipment cleaning and use log as per the standard operating procedure lies with the staff of the rank not lower than operator of production department.
The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the SOP lies with the Officer/Executive (Production), Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.
4.0 METHOD:
4.1 Clean the equipment after use as per the individual standard operating procedure for each equipment immediately or not later than six hours after completion of operation.
4. 2 If the equipment is not used for 24 hours or more than 24 hours after cleaning the equipment, clean the equipment again as per the individual standard operating procedure for each equipment before taking the next batch.
4. 3 Before starting a new batch, the operating person shall visually check the equipment cleaning and use log for the details of cleaning and he shall inspect the equipment for cleanliness. If the duration is more than 24 hours, he shall clean the equipment
again before starting the batch.
5.0 RECORDING:
The responsibility of recording the cleaning operation lies with the staff of rank not lower than operator/technical assistant of production department in the equipment cleaning record attached to the batch manufacturing sheet and equipment cleaning and use log as shown in annexure-I.

The SOP describes in detail the method of cleaning fibre drums/HDPE drums.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of cleaning fibre drums/HDPE drums as per the SOP lies with the staff of the rank not lower than operator of the production department.

4.0 METHOD:
4.1 Open the top cover.
4. 2 Clean inner surface and outer surface with muslin cloth dipped in 1 L. industrieal methylated spirit and squeezed. Allow to dry. Send industrial methylated spirit for recovery.
4. 3 Clean inner surface, outer surface and top cover with muslin cloth.
4. 4 Close the top cover.
5.0 RECORDING:
The cleaning operation will be recorded by the supervisor in the register as shown in annexure-I.
