Description

1.0    PURPOSE:
    
    To  describe  a  standard operating procedure (SOP) for  identifying, storing and disposing of waste materials.
    
2.0    SCOPE:
    
    The SOP describes in detail the method  of identifying, storing and disposing of waste materials.
    
3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:
    
    The  responsibility  of identifying, storing and  disposing  of waste  materials as per the SOP lies with the staff of the rank not lower than operator of the production department.
    
    The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the SOP lies with the Officer (Production), Head of Production and Head of QAD  respectively.
    
4.0    METHOD:
    
4.1    The boiler ash, spent carbon and solid residue from  production  will be transported and stored in the designated cubicles.
    
4.2.    The waste bags (Poly), MS drums and fibre drums will be  transported to the designated cubicles.
    
4.3.    The  boiler ash, spent carbon, bags, MS drums and  fibre  drums  will be sold as per the accumulation of stock.
    
4.4.    The solid residues and unsalvaged  non-conforming products from  production batches will be burnt in incinerator located in  one  of our units at pashamylaram.
    
5.0    RECORDING:
    
    The gate passes will be maintained by the security personnel.
