1.0 PURPOSE
1.1 To lay down the procedure for operation of vacuum oven.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 This procedure is applicable for the operation of CINTEX vacuum oven, with equipment identification nos. xxxxx in A-block in-process quality control laboratory.

5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Connect the equipment to 230 volts A/C power supply.
5.2 Switch on the temperature controller.
5.3 The Digital temperature controller displays the ambient temperature.
5.4 Set the required temperature by pressing red button on the control panel.
5.5 Control the temperature with rotating knob at front panel.
5.6 Set the rate of temperature by using setting knob.
5.7 Insert the sample bottle in to the oven and close the 2-screw type knob door tightly.
5.8 Wait till the actual temperature reaches to the set temperature and when it happens the red indicator relay bulb automatically glows.
5.9 Connect the vacuum either from line / pump to the vacuum nozzle of the instrument provided on the side of equipment.
5.10 Open the vacuum-releasing knob i.e. on the top of the instrument.
5.11 Apply the vacuum and check with the help of pressure gauge located on the top of oven.
5.12 After completion of the specified time, slowly release the vacuum through the release knob, pressure gauge shows up to zero.
5.13 Open the 2-screw type knob door and remove the sample bottle and measure loss on sample. Record the equipment usage details in the logbook as per Annexure-I (as per QA SOP format no. xxxxx-current version).
5.14 Switch off the instrument after completion of experiment or when it is not in use for long time.
