Operation and Calibration of Hot air oven for Glass ware drying Cintex CIC 212

Description

I.    PURPOSE:

      To provide a procedure to operate and maintain the Cintex make CIC-212 Hot air oven.

 II .  SCOPE:

This procedure is applicable for the Hot air oven for Glassware drying for the analytical purpose in the Quality Control Department..

 III . RESPONSIBILITY:

It is the responsibility of all the personnel involved in the analysis using of the system.

V.    OPERATION                                      

1.0   PRELIMINARY CHECK:

1.1   Check that the instrument and surroundings are clean, if not, clean with a soft cloth duster.
    
 2.0  BASIC OPERATION: 

 2.1  Before using the Hot air oven, check whether it is calibrated or not.  If not, calibrate it..
 2.2   Switch on the instrument by the “MAINS” switch on the control panel of the instrument.
 2.3   The control panel consists of
a)    Microprocessor based Temperature controller.
b)    Three heat control switch (Rotatory switch) to control heating rate control.
c)    ON/OFF switch for FAN.
d)     Fuse.
2.4    To set the desired temperature press set key on Microprocessor based Temperature  controller until SP is displayed.
2.5     Press enter.

 2.6   Usage of  “Three heat control switch” – based upon he target set temperature the  rotatory switch should be set as follows.

0

OFF position

1

350C to 800C

2

810C to 1000C

3

1010C to 2500C

 

2.7      After the desired temperature is set keep the sample in the oven and close the door.
2.8      Keep always the oven temperature setting at 700C for drying glass ware drying

VI.   CALIBRATION  
         
             Calibration Frequency: Once in six months by external agency.

1.    The calibration should be carried out by external across the full range of temperature i.e from 500C to 2000C by using methods and standards traceable to national standards.

2.    If the instrument fails in calibration, proceed as per the Core Procedure, “Calibration of Equipment”.
