Description

 PURPOSE:

1.1    To lay down the procedure for operation of THERMOLAB – Oven.

2.0    SCOPE:

2.1    This procedure is applicable in Quality Control department.

3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:

3.1    Junior Assistant/Senior Assistant – QC 
3.2    Senior Executive – QC 

4.0    ACCOUNTABILITY:

4.1    Manager – QC 
4.2    Asst. Manager – QC 

5.0    PROCEDURE:

5.1    Switch on the Mains switch.
5.2    For setting the required temperature, in the temperature indicator, press the upward key to increase the temperature and press the downward key to decrease the temperature.  The temperature changes are highlighted in green color reading that is meant for set value (SV).  These ways set the required temperature and then press the select key.  
5.3    Rotate the safety thermostat knob and set it about 20 degrees higher temperature than the temperature set in temperature indicator.  This ensures the safety cut off point in case of failure of automatic temperature controller.
5.4    Switch on the heating switch. Now the temperature reading highlighted in Red color that is meant for process value (PV) increases slowly and stabilizes at the set value.  Now the oven is ready for use.

5.5    Take the sample to be dried in a suitable container and keep it inside the oven.
5.6    Close the oven door properly.
5.7    Every time after keeping the samples for drying or the removal of samples after drying, close the door properly again.
5.8    When the use of oven is over for the day, keep the door closed, set the temperature to 25 degrees as said above in the Temperature indicator.  When the oven attains 25 degrees temperature, turn the safety thermostat knob also to 25 degrees.  Switch off the heating switch and then the mains switch.
