Description

1.0   PURPOSE:

To describe  standard operating procedure for breakdown rectification of multimill.

2.0    SCOPE:

The  standard  operating  procedure describes  in  detail  the  method of breakdown rectification of multimill.

3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:

The  responsibility  of breakdown rectification  of  multimill   lies with the staff of rank not lower than the junior  utility  operator of maintenance department.

The responsibility of preparing, reviewing  and approving  the  standard  operating  procedure lies with the Manager  -  Maintenance,  Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.

4.0    METHOD:

4.1        Rectification of burnt motor of multimill:

4.1.1       Isolate the equipment electrically and remove guard.

4.1.2       Loosen  the v-belt by adjusting the motor position using  gear  wheel.

4.1.3       Remove v-belt.

4.1.4       Remove v-pulley using puller.

4.1.5       Remove  motor from the motor platform and send it to the  outside agency as per the SENDING  OUT  EQUIPMENT  FOR RECTIFICATION TO THE OUTSIDE AGENCY.

4.1.6       Fix the v-pulley and then v-belt.

4.1.7       Adjust the motor for the medium tightness of the v-belt.

4.1.8       Fix the guard.

4.1.9       Restore the power supply to the equipment.

4.2         Replacing the damaged v-belt:

4.2.1       Perform the steps 4.1.1 to 4.1.3.

4.2.2       Place the new belt in position and perform the steps 4.1.7  to  4.1.9.

4.3.        Replacing the damaged v-pulleys of motor/mill shaft:

4.3.1       Perform steps 4.1.1. to 4.1.3.

4.3.2       Remove damaged v-pulley using puller.

4.3.3       Fix  the new v-pulley and adjust the pulley to align with  the  other pulley.

4.3.4       Place the v-belt on the pulleys.

4.3.5       Perform steps 4.1.7 to 4.1.9.

4.4         Replacing the damaged bearings of multimill:

4.4.1       Isolate the equipment electrically and remove guard.

4.4.2       Loosen  the v-belt by adjusting the motor position using  gear  wheel.

4.4.3.      Remove v-belt.

4.4.4       Remove v-pulley of mill shaft using puller.

4.4.5.      Remove bowl of the multimill by unscrewing the wing nuts.

4.4.6       Remove mesh ring by unscrewing the nuts.

4.4.7       Unscrew the shaft bottom bolt and remove blades set.

4.4.8       Remove  shaft  bearing housing cover bolts and  take  out  the   shaft with bearings.

4.4.9       Remove  damaged bearing from the shaft by hitting them  slowly  using wooden piece and hammer.

4.4.10      Apply  bearing  grease to the bearings and fix  the  shaft  in  position.

4.4.11     Fix the shaft bearing housing cover bolts.

4.4.12      Fix the v-pulley and adjust the pulley to align with the motor  v-pulley.

4.4.13      Fix the blades set and then fix mesh ring.

4.4.14      Fix the bowl cover.

4.4.15      Place the v-belt in position and adjust the motor position for  the medium tightness of the v-belt.

4.4.16      Fix the guard.

4.4.17      Restore the power supply to the equipment.

4.5         Replacing the worn-out blades of multimill:

4.5.1       Perform the steps from 4.4.1 to 4.4.7.

4.5.2       Fix the new blade set and then fix mesh ring.

4.5.3       Perform the steps from 4.4.1 to 4.4.17.
