1.0 PURPOSE:
To describe standard operating procedure for breakdown rectification of multimill.
2.0 SCOPE:
The standard operating procedure describes in detail the method of breakdown rectification of multimill.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of breakdown rectification of multimill lies with the staff of rank not lower than the junior utility operator of maintenance department.
The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the standard operating procedure lies with the Manager - Maintenance, Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.
4.0 METHOD:
4.1 Rectification of burnt motor of multimill:
4.1.1 Isolate the equipment electrically and remove guard.
4.1.2 Loosen the v-belt by adjusting the motor position using gear wheel.
4.1.3 Remove v-belt.
4.1.4 Remove v-pulley using puller.
4.1.5 Remove motor from the motor platform and send it to the outside agency as per the SENDING OUT EQUIPMENT FOR RECTIFICATION TO THE OUTSIDE AGENCY.
4.1.6 Fix the v-pulley and then v-belt.
4.1.7 Adjust the motor for the medium tightness of the v-belt.
4.1.8 Fix the guard.
4.1.9 Restore the power supply to the equipment.
4.2 Replacing the damaged v-belt:
4.2.1 Perform the steps 4.1.1 to 4.1.3.
4.2.2 Place the new belt in position and perform the steps 4.1.7 to 4.1.9.
4.3. Replacing the damaged v-pulleys of motor/mill shaft:
4.3.1 Perform steps 4.1.1. to 4.1.3.
4.3.2 Remove damaged v-pulley using puller.
4.3.3 Fix the new v-pulley and adjust the pulley to align with the other pulley.
4.3.4 Place the v-belt on the pulleys.
4.3.5 Perform steps 4.1.7 to 4.1.9.
4.4 Replacing the damaged bearings of multimill:
4.4.1 Isolate the equipment electrically and remove guard.
4.4.2 Loosen the v-belt by adjusting the motor position using gear wheel.
4.4.3. Remove v-belt.
4.4.4 Remove v-pulley of mill shaft using puller.
4.4.5. Remove bowl of the multimill by unscrewing the wing nuts.
4.4.6 Remove mesh ring by unscrewing the nuts.
4.4.7 Unscrew the shaft bottom bolt and remove blades set.
4.4.8 Remove shaft bearing housing cover bolts and take out the shaft with bearings.
4.4.9 Remove damaged bearing from the shaft by hitting them slowly using wooden piece and hammer.
4.4.10 Apply bearing grease to the bearings and fix the shaft in position.
4.4.11 Fix the shaft bearing housing cover bolts.
4.4.12 Fix the v-pulley and adjust the pulley to align with the motor v-pulley.
4.4.13 Fix the blades set and then fix mesh ring.
4.4.14 Fix the bowl cover.
4.4.15 Place the v-belt in position and adjust the motor position for the medium tightness of the v-belt.
4.4.16 Fix the guard.
4.4.17 Restore the power supply to the equipment.
4.5 Replacing the worn-out blades of multimill:
4.5.1 Perform the steps from 4.4.1 to 4.4.7.
4.5.2 Fix the new blade set and then fix mesh ring.
4.5.3 Perform the steps from 4.4.1 to 4.4.17.
