1.0 PURPOSE:
To describe a standard operating procedure (SOP) for operating sifter SF5.
2.0 SCOPE:
The SOP describes in detail the method for operating sifter SF5.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
The responsibility of operating sifter SF5 lies with the staff of the rank not lower than operator of the production department.
The responsibility of preparing, reviewing and approving the SOP lies with the Dy. Manager (Production), Head of Production and Head of QAD respectively.
4.0 METHOD:
4.1 Fit the mesh of desired size below the charging hopper & clamp it firmly. Ensure that clamp is sufficiently tightened to avoid loosing during operation.
4.2 Place the product collecting drum containing double polythene bags below discharge hopper and tie batch to the hopper.
4.3 Switch on the power supply to the sifter.
4.4 Slowly feed the material using scoop through the feeding hopper.
4.5 Switch off the sifter when sieving is completed untie polythene bags fitted to the discharge hopper pull aside the drum and tie bags, close the drum with lid.
