I. PURPOSE:
To provide a procedure to operate and maintain the Vacuum pump, Arunvac, AVB 50)
II. SCOPE:
This procedure is applicable for the Vacuum pump used in the Quality Control department
III. RESPONSIBILITY:
It is the responsibility of all the personnel involved in the analysis using of the equipment.

V. OPERATION:
1.0 PRELIMINARY CHECK:
1.1 Before switching on the vacuum pump check the oil level through the view glass.
2.0 BASIC OPERATION:
2.1.1. Before using the vacuum pump, ensure that the equipment is calibrated or not. If it is not, it is to be used only after calibration.
2.1.2. Connect the vacuum pump to the oven and switch on the vacuum pump.
2.1.3. Change the oil in the vacuum pump if the oil color is changed or oil level is decreased less than half of the view glass.
CALIBRATION PROTOCOL
Calibration frequency: Once in three months by external agency.
01. If the instrument fails in calibration, proceed as per the Core Procedure, “Calibration of Equipment”.
