Operation of (Hot plate Cintex CIC 10)

I.    PURPOSE :
        To provide a procedure for the Operation of Cintex make CIC-10 Hotplate
II.   SCOPE :
        This procedure is applicable for the Hot plate, Cintex, CIC – 10 being used for the analytical purposes in the Quality Control department. 

III.    RESPONSIBILITY :
    It is the responsibility of all the personnel involved in the analysis using of the equipment.

V.    OPERATION :       

1.0      PRELIMINARY CHECK :

1.1        Check that the instrument and surroundings are clean, if not, clean with a soft cloth duster.

 2.0 BASIC OPERATION : 

2.1.    Switch on the hotplate by the mains switch.
2.2.    There are two controls knobs on the hotplate.
2.3.    Left side knob is to controll the rate of temperature rising.
2.4.    Right side knob is a rotatory knob with 3 controls as following 
1-    50 
2-    100 
3-    150  
2.5 Before using the hot plate, ensure the temperature and rotation  at zero level to avoid sudden spillages and bumping of the liquids
2.6  Monitor cautiously while operating the heating  for the chances of bumping of theliquids.
2.7  Switch of the hot plate after usage and after coming to room temperature.
2.8  Always use hot plate only inside the fume hood.
2.7  Don’t place any flammable liquids or solids directly in beakers on heating mantle.
