1.1 To lay down a procedure for operation of Auto titrator (Mettler).

2.1 This SOP is applicable for mettler auto titrator in Quality control department.

5.0 PROCEDURE:
5.1 Connect the titrator to the mains supply and switch ON.
5.2 Display the date format (dA.t_) at LED screen.
5.3 Press Run key.
5.4 Month format (dA.t_) displays on the screen, Press Run key.
5.5 Year format (dAt._) displays on the screen and again press the Run key.
5.6 The LCD screen displays ‘0’ and equipment goes to stand by mode.
5.7 In this mode all the indicator lamps of the display are off.
5.8 Then press reset key, the burette is filled with volumetric solution automatically.
5.9 If it is any air bubbles in burette press Buret/ml key.
5.10 If it is any incorrect entry press CE key.
5.11 Create a new method (for non aqueous):
5.11.1 Select the number and press the method icon (For ex. New method No. is 1).
5.11.2 Enter the material factor and press const icon.
5.11.3 Enter the required primary standard equivalent factor and press Const reag icon.
5.11.4 Enter the normality of the volumetric solution and press conc icon.
5.11.5 Enter the zero by using numeric keys and press backup icon.
5.11.6 Enter the zero by using numeric keys and press blank icon.
5.11.7 Enter 1 and press mode icon, enter 1002 by using numeric keys and press Run icon.
5.11.8 Enter 2 and press mode Icon, enter 1002 by using numeric keys and press Run icon.
5.11.9 Enter 3 and press mode icon, enter 20 by using numeric keys and press Run icon.
5.11.10 Enter 2 and press mode icon, enter 1002 by using numeric keys and press Run icon.
5.11.11 Enter 3 and press mode icon, enter 05 by using numeric keys and press Run icon.
5.11.12 Enter 4 and press mode icon, enter 20 by using numeric keys and press Run icon.
5.11.13 Enter 5 and press mode icon, enter 0 by using numeric keys and press Run icon.
5.11.14 Enter 6 and press mode icon, enter 30 by using numeric keys and press Run icon.

5.11.22 Enter 1 by using numeric key and press Save icon.
5.11.23 Enter the required method No. and press Run icon.
5.11.24 Cursor blinks at weight mode.
5.11.25 Enter the sample concentration in grams by using numerical keys and press Run key.
5.11.26 The cursor blinks at identification mode
5.11.27 Enter the sample identification by using numeric keys and press Run key.
5.11.28 The LCD screen displays ‘0’ and equipment goes to stand by mode, and press again Run key.
5.11.29 The cursor blinks at busy mode, press Run key.
5.11.30 Then automatically start the titration.
5.11.31 After end of the titration results displays on the screen.
5.11.32 To take the print of the result press the 6 on the numeric keypad and press Run key.
5.11.33 After getting the print out enter the data in auto titrator logbook.
5.11.34 Unscrew the clamping ring and remove the titration vessel.
5.11.35 Place a waste beaker under the titration head and rinse the electrode, burette tip and the stirrer with desired solvent.
5.11.36 At the end of the titration, unscrew the plug in cable and remove the electrode.
5.11.37 Switch Off the titrator.
