Description

  1. PURPOSE

          To lay down a detailed procedure for establishing effective Pests and Rodents control program.

  8. PROCEDURE:
  9. Pest Control:
  10. Company shall make a contract with a competent agency to carry out the pest and rodent control operations.
  11. To control pest, the following chemicals shall be used. 
  12. Human Resource shall monitor the Pest Control program and co-ordinates the activity with the authorized service contractor
  13. Pesticides activity shall not be carried out inside the production areas.  Only areas outside the building along the walls shall be sprayed.
  14. Pesticide materials shall not be taken inside Raw Material and Packing materials warehouse, Manufacturing and Quality Control areas. 
  15. While dilution and spraying person(s) shall use full protective clothing with rubber gloves, nose mask, goggles etc.
  16. Separate clothes should be worn while spraying and it is recommended to have a complete wash after spraying
  17. Adequate quantity for that day shall be diluted in the presence of personnel department.  Any left over quantity shall be discarded outside the factory in safe manner.
  18. Sprayer shall be kept in position after ensuring that all the outlets are capped properly.
  19. The hand pump shall be kept in position after ensuring that all the outlets are capped properly
  20. The hand pump shall be operated to build the requisite pressure.  In case pressure indication is not there, pumping shall be stopped as and when heavy pressure is to be exerted on pumping.
  21. Periodic pumping shall be necessary as and when the pressure is released.
  22. In case of inhalation or ingestion, first aid shall be given as per the respective antidotes.
  23. Managers of different departments shall asses the effectiveness of the Pest control operation carried out in their area.  If the controls are not satisfactory, the service contractor shall be called and the matter discussed.  Amendments shall be made in the contract if required to render additional services like using new pesticides or increasing the concentration used presently or inclusion of new areas.
  24. Pest control treatment shall be recorded in the Pest Control Treatment Record as per the format no. xxxxx
  25. 5.2Rodent Control
  26. Mechanical rodent traps shall be kept at Warehouse.
  27. Human Resource shall check all the traps every day and remove the dead rodents and send it for incineration or burial.
  28. Rodents trapped in Mechanical traps shall be removed and taken outside the factory and buried.
  29. Managers of different departments shall asses the effectiveness of the Rodent control operation carried out in their area.  If the controls are not satisfactory, the service contractor shall be called and the matter discussed.  Amendments shall be made in the contract if required to render additional services like using glue pads etc in new areas.
  30. Rodent control shall be recorded in the observations of rodent traps as per the format no. xxxxx
