STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR RECEIVING AND USAGE OF DEMINERALISED WATER

Description

1.0    PURPOSE :

        To describe the  standard operating procedure for receiving  and  usage of D.M. water 
    
2.0    SCOPE:

        The  standard  operating procedure describes  in  detail   the  method   for  receiving and usage of  D.M.  water  in Block-IV.
    
3.0    RESPONSIBILITY:

        The  responsibility  for pumping D.M water to the receiving tank lies with maintenance department and receiving and usage as per the  standard operating procedure lies with the staff of rank not lower than technical assistant of production department.   

The responsibility of preparation, review  and approval of the standard operating procedure lies with the Executive (Production), Head of Production  and Head of QAD respectively.

4.0    METHOD:
4.1    Ensure  that no water present in the receiving tank and circulation loop. 

4.2    Ensure bottom valve receiver of the receiving tank in close position. 

4.3    Inform to  maintenance  department  for  pumping of D.M. water to Block-IV.


4.4    Receive the D.M. water 600 L. into receiving tank.

4.5    Switch on the loop circulation pump and keep the D.M. water under re-circulation.
    
4.6    Heat the D.M. water using steam in the jacket 70 – 80°

4.7    Maintain the D.M. water at 70 – 80° C. for 1 hour.

4.8    Cool the D.M. water to the room temperature.

4.9    Open the loop usage valve SP-25 and charge the D.M. water into reactors into xxxxxx

4.10    Measure the required quantity of D.M. water as per indicator.

4.11    Ensure draining of water from receiving tank after usage.

    
4.14    Frequency: 

 Inform to maintenance department for D.M. water as per the requirement.
