Actions

Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic. The principal mode of action for albendazole is by its inhibitory effect on tubulin polymerization which results in the loss of cytoplasmic microtubules.

Headache, rash, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, acute kidney failure, confusion, Reversible hair loss.

Interaction

Albendazole interacted with grape fruit juice and with certain drugs such as Cimitidine, Dexamethasone, theophilline, praziquantel.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity, liver impairment and during pregnancy and lactation.
