0.3-1 g daily, in 3-4 divided doses. Given via oral/IV/IM

Therapeutic uses

Antifibrinolytic, used to control massive hemorrhage and in other coagulation disorders. 

Adverse effects/Side effects

GI discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.

Interaction

Concurrent use with factor IX complex or anti-inhibitor coagulant concentrates may increase risk of thrombosis.
