Actions

Ardeparin, an anticoagulant, is a fractionated heparin. It acts at multiple sites in the normal coagulation system to inhibit the formation of fibrin clots both in vitro and in vivo and the clotting of blood.

Precautions

  • The patient may need a dose adjustment with close medical monitoring if diagnosed with hepatic disorders, renal diseases, uncontrolled BP, peptic ulcers, bacterial endocarditis, and diabetic ocular complications.
  • Ardeparin treatment is contraindicated in patients with thrombocytopenia, bleeding disorders and allergy to pork products
  • Ardeparin should not be administered routes other than subcutaneous injections.
