Actions

Selective inhibition of the pre-synaptic norepinephrine transporter.

Dosage/Dosage form

Starting dose is 0.5 mg/kg bodyweight and the dosage can be increased after 3 days in divided doses. The maximum dose should not exceed 1.2 mg/kg/day.

Interaction

  • Do not consume alcohol while taking Atomoxetine hydrochloride
  • Atomoxetine hydrochloride may interact with MAOIs, fluoxetine, paroxetine, pressor agents, albuterol, anti-hypertensive drugs, midazolam, methylphenidate, desipramine, aspirin, antacids and PPIs.

Precautions
