Bemiparin sodium is available as pre-filled syringes (2500 units/0.2 ml solution)
Used in the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism (deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism) and in the treatment of myocardial infarction.
Bemiparin sodium may interact with intravenous nitroglycerin, vitamin K antagonists, aspirin, dextran, clopidogrel, ticlopidine, glucocorticoids, NSAIDs, anticoagulants, and hyperkalemia causing drugs.
Bemiparin sodium can interact with alcohol. Do not consume alcohol while receiving Bemiparin sodium therapy.
Bemiparin sodium is contraindicated in patients with diabetes, liver disorders, ocular problems, renal stones, bleeding disorders, heparin allergy, pancreatic disorders, peptic ulcer, need to undergo surgery of eyes, metabolic acidosis, ears, brain, nerves and spinal cord, need to under CSF sampling and recent history of heparin therapy.
