Adverse effects/Side effects

Asthenic conditions; pyrexia; GI disturbances, anorexia; peripheral neuropathy; dehydration; thrombocytopenia, anaemia; neutropenia, hypotension; cardiac disorders; bone and body pain; cough, dyspnoea; rash, oedema; hypersensitivity reactions; painful or difficult urination, pneumonia, pyrexia, diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration and nausea.

Interaction

  • Concurrent use of antihypertensive drugs increases the chance of hypotension.
  • Concurrent use of amiodarone, antivirals, isoniazid, nitrofurantoin, and statins may increase the chance of peripheral neuropathy. 

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity.
  • Child.
  • Pregnancy and lactation

Precautions

  • Monitor for symptoms of peripheral neuropathy.
  • History of syncope, orthostatic hypotension; Hepatic or renal impairment; dehydration. Impairs ability to drive or operate machinery.
  • Monitor closely the blood glucose levels in patients receiving oral antidiabetic agents.
