Therapeutic uses

For prevention and treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency arising from tapeworm infestation, alcoholism, celiac, malabsorption, hyperthyroidism, persistent diarrhea, hepatic-biliary tract disease, pancreatic cancer, ileal resection, prolonged stress, renal disease, vegan diets, macrobiotic diets or other restrictive diets. Also for the treatment of known or suspected cyanide poisoning.

This drug may interact with ascorbic acid, thiopental, sodium nitrite, Fentanyl, pentobarbital, dobutamine, diazepam, thiosulfate, propofol, nitroglycerin, fresh frozen plasma and blood products.
