This is a vasodilator, indicated to relief of symptoms associated with cerebrovascular insufficiency, for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, and premature labor. It relaxes blood vessels, which makes them wider and allows blood to pass through them more easily.
Hypotension, dizziness, palpitation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distress, severe rash, flushing, tachycardia. Maternal pulmonary oedema and foetal tachycardia (IV).
Other vasodilators or hypotensive agents will potentiates the effect of this drug.
