Dosage/Dosage form

The recommended dose is 2.5 to 10 mg/day in 2 divided doses (max dose 20 mg/day) per oral.

Therapeutic uses

For the management of mild to moderate essential hypertension. It may be used alone or concurrently with thiazide-type diuretics.

Adverse effects/Side effects

Weight gain/loss, fever, and decrease in white blood cell, excessive sweating and liver dysfunction.  Drowsiness, sleeplessness, lethargy, nervousness, decreases in sexual activities, impotence, depression, numbness and tingling, transient ischemic attack and stroke. 

Interaction

  • Isradipine may interact with nitroglycerine, propranolol, cimetidine, hydrochlorothiazide, Fentanyl, digoxin, warfarin and rifampicin.
  • Do not take alcohol while taking Isradipine

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with allergic to the components of the product or drug.
