Dosage/Dosage form

Instill one or two drops into the conjunctival sac(s) every three to four hours as needed.

Therapeutic uses

Naphazoline is primarily indicated in conditions like Corneal vascularity, Hyperaemia, Itching, Nasal congestion, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Sinusitis

Adverse effects/Side effects

Mydriasis, increased redness, irritation, discomfort, blurring, punctate keratitis, lacrimation, increased intraocular pressure.
Dizziness, headache, nausea, sweating, nervousness, drowsiness, weakness, hypertension, cardiac irregularities, and hyperglycemia.

Interaction

  • Naphazoline may decrease effectiveness of Benzylpenicilloyl Polylysine as a diagnostic agent.
  • Alfuzosin may decrease the vasoconstricting activities of Naphazoline.
  • Amoxapine may decrease the antihypertensive activities of Naphazoline.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.
