Dosage/Dosage form

5 mcg of Ramosetron hydrochloride once daily. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 10 mcg.

Therapeutic uses

For the treatment of nausea and vomiting and diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome in males.

Interaction

  • Co administration of Ramosetron hydrochloride with MAOIs, CYP1A2 inhibitors, anti-psychotics, tricyclic anti-depressant drugs, phenothiazines, anti-cholinergics and opioid narcotics results in serious and severe GI disturbances including diarrhoea or constipation.

Contraindications

  • Ramosetron hydrochloride is contraindicated in patients with active diarrhoea, predominant irritable bowel syndrome, infectious enteritis, colon cancer, constipation colitis, patients unresponsive to conventional therapy.
  • Ramosetron hydrochloride is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Ramosetron hydrochloride.
