Dosage/Dosage form

NAThe vaccination series consists of two 1-mL doses administered orally. The first dose should be administered to infants beginning at 6 weeks of age. There should be an interval of at least 4 weeks between the first and second dose.

Therapeutic uses

It is indicated for prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis caused by G1, G3, G4, and G9 types in infants

Adverse effects/Side effects

Fussiness, irritability, cough, runny nose, fever, vomiting and diarrhea.  

Interaction

  • Rotavirus vaccines may interact with anti-psoriasis drugs, injectable corticosteroids (oral, inhalation or nasal), chemotherapy drugs, radiation, autoimmune drugs, immunosuppressive drugs and anti-arthritic drugs.
