I. PURPOSE :
To provide a procedure to operate and maintain the Cintex make incubator.
II. SCOPE :
This procedure is applicable for the BOD incubator being used for storage of standard materials and samples in the Quality Control department
III. RESPONSIBILITY :
It is the responsibility of all the personnel involved in the analysis using of the equipment.
IV. DOCUMENT REFERENCE :
SOPs : None
Forms : None
V. OPERATION :
1.0 PRELIMINARY CHECK :
1.1 Check that the instrument and surroundings are clean, if not, clean with a soft cloth duster.
2.0 BASIC OPERATION :
2.1 Before using the Bod Incubator apparatus, check whether it is calibrated or not. If not, calibrate it..
2.2 Switch on the instrument by the “MAINS” switch on the control panel of the instrument.
2.3 The control panel consists of
a) Microprocessor based Temperature controller.
b) Ampere meter.
c) Volt meter.
d) Fuse.
2.4 To set the desired temperature press set key on Microprocessor based Temperature controller until SP is displayed.
2.5 Press enter.
2.6 After he desired temperature is set keep the sample in the oven and close the door.
2.7 Precautions
a) If ampere meter draws more than 3 Ampere then switch “off” the incubator and clean the condenser with air –blower and restart.
b) If Volt meter drops less than 180 or exceeds more than 250 Volts than switch off the incubator and restart by using new stabilizer of 4 KVA capacity.
VI. CALIBRATION Calibration Frequency: Once in six months by external agency.
1. The calibration should be carried out by external across the full range of temperature i.e from 50C to 600C by using methods and standards traceable to national standards.
2. If the instrument fails in calibration, proceed as per the Core Procedure, “Calibration of Equipment”.
